This documentation is designed to be a guide in the configuration of the Qscan range of readers by manufacturer IBC (International Barcodes), to make the process easier when integrating an access control system into the Proxyclick visitor management experience.

Configuration QR codes

Use the below QR codes with a new Qscan reader - if your reader has already been set up you may need to reset prior to continuing with the below process.

The following QR codes allow for a simple setup, enabling the reader to read Proxyclick QR codes with either a 37 or 42 bit Wiegand output.

<aside> <img src="/icons/info-alternate_blue.svg" alt="/icons/info-alternate_blue.svg" width="40px" /> We have found that the below configuration QR codes need to be printed out to successfully work with a new reader. Once they have been used, the reader will have "mobile mode" activated so they will then successfully read QR codes from a mobile screen.

37 bit output

The below QR code will configure the Qscan reader to:

  1. Read the first 8 digits of the QR code only (where we place our token numbers)
  2. Output as HID 37bit large format (1 parity + 35 data + 1 parity)
